We are pleased to share the 2026 award winners in original fine art and handmade craft at this year's On the Green Show. The caliber of work on display was exceptional, making award decisions especially challenging, and we are grateful to all exhibitors for contributing to such a memorable show.
Join us on October 3rd for 9th Annual Poetry Inspired by Art!
Victoria Nordlund, Glastonbury Poet Laureate has gathered a dazzling array of established and emerging poets and writers for the 9th annual presentation of Poetry Inspired by Art.
Each year a select group of poets creates original poetry inspired by the artworks of Glastonbury Arts member artists. Be inspired as you learn about each artist’s work, the imagery that inspired the art. Then, enjoy poetry readings by the invited poets who have created original poetry inspired by the artworks on display. This event will take place in the Friends Room, Welles Turner Memorial Library, 2407 Main Street in Glastonbury.
Threads of Inspiration: The Fiber Art of Phyllis Small, Saturday, November 21, 2026, 1:00 to 3:00 pm
Join award-winning fiber artist Phyllis Small for an engaging talk about her creative journey and the influences that shape her textile work. Having explored pen and ink, collage, painting, pottery, printmaking, papermaking, and quilting, Small brings a rich, experimental sensibility to fiber art. Inspired by color, shape, line, texture, and the tactile qualities of fabric, she views textiles as joyful, restorative, and essential to her well-being. Small has enjoyed a long career as an award-winning artist whose work has appeared in numerous solo and group exhibitions. In 2021, the Windsor Art Center presented 80@80, a retrospective celebrating her work. She earned a BA in Chemistry from Boston University and pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Hartford. She also studied at the West Hartford Art League, Farmington Valley Arts Center, and The Artists Collective, with additional instruction from Margot Rosenthal in collage, Ionis Martin in drawing and painting, and Bill Toulis of Pratt Institute in silk screening.
